Role of grandparents in upbringing of Children - IELTS Writing task 2 Sample Answer - 7.5 Bands

 Question - In some countries, the grandparents play a significant role in bringing up children. It is good or Bad ? 


Answer - It is true that in some nations , geriatric people have an influential role in nourishing the grand-children. Grandparents are  like strong pillars to any family. This trend has both the postive and negative sides. This essay will discuss both the sides. 


On the postive side, grandparents play an indispensable role in proper nurturing of the toddlers. Firstly, olderly people impart the wide range of knowledge among children. Consequently, they teach the core values of relationships, cultures and customs. For this reason, these things may not be taught at school or college level, offsprings  can only inherit them from their grandparents . To quote an example , grandparents always tell the mythological stories to children to evoke the religious faith in them. So, it keeps the offsprings connected to their roots in terms of values and cultures. Secondly, in this prevailing scenario, parents are tend to be more busy to earn money as compared to olden days , these days both husband and wife are working to have a secure life. As a result, grandparents are the key ones, who take cares of their children. Because, the senior citizen , mostly are retired and they do not have anything much to do.


However, there are two main negative sides of this phenomenon. The first and foremost is troublesome for older people as children are stubborn and more demanding. As a consequence, they are a botheration for older ones, who are not physically active to r each demands of the kids. Secondly, grandparents are over-possessive , therefore, they interfare in their minute matters, it irritates the children and makes them feel that their privacy is hindred. 


In conclusion , it can be said that , it is safe to assume that , it is generally good for the children to be brought up by their grandparents but sometimes, it is not advisable to live with older people because grandchildren bother them more, which is not better for older people's health
